curb FUCK YOU IF YOU MISS THISThe “Seinfeld” Reunion on “Curb Your Enthusiasm”

The old set has been reconstructed.  All of our cast is back, and now we’ve got Larry David in the mix, too.  The ten-episode season focuses on getting the gang back together for a reunion show, which each of the principal cast members (as themselves) acknowledges is a lame idea.

“They never work, it’s always sad, they’re older, it’s not right…” complains Julia Louis-Dreyfuss.

“How will it not be lame?” demands Jerry.

“Because we’ll do it in a way that won’t be lame,” explains Larry.

Absolutely right.  Larry David is of course trying to pull a fast one on everyone, organizing this reunion show (it’s all a ploy to win back his ex-wife, Cheryl), but what struck me most about his aforementioned line is how Larry realizes a moment after he says it, that it’s true.  They will do it in a way that won’t be lame.  For all of Larry’s selfishness, plotting and bitterness, he really does believe it will be a good show, and it excites him.  Damn, it’s good.

The cast will be featured the rest of the season, and it’s off to such an overwhelming start, that I can’t believe we got 7 more episodes of it!

I know not everybody watches the show, and even more people simply don’t even have HBO (which makes me VERY angry indeed), but please, find a friend who watches or can TiVo it.  Just find a way.  It’s gonna be great.  If you can’t trouble yourself, fuck off, it’s not for you.
