“Burn” by Ray La Montagne
Sad slow dances have been my poison lately, music-wise. It’s interesting that this song is called “Burn” because it feels like a slow burn. The chords are strummed heavy and slow, and Ray LaMontagne’s voice is the same.
This is one of those tunes where the emotion is so strong that it takes a good many listens to discern the meaning behind the lyrics. I’ve yet to get to that point. Whatever this song is about, it’s about a boiling pain.
