“CUPID” by Amy Winehouse
One of the cleverer series of covers was done for the album “Rhythms Del Mundo.” Modern celeb singers take old pop standards and give them a vacationing calypso beat. One of the most successful was the late Ms. Winehouse’s cover of Sam Cooke’s “Cupid.”
It’s a song pulsing with life and energy, even more so with this version. It was the first I listened to after hearing of her death. She could have done a whole hell of a lot more. Lameness.

Oh what a shame. Damn shame. This is such a great song. I am chilling out on the plane listening to it right now. Agreed though. Too young. Too talented.
